You Need to Know

You Need to Know purpose in life. He is God’s ONLY Son (John 3:16) and there is no one else like Him. He is incomparable! He is the image of God, the creator of all things, the head of the church, supreme above all things, totally God, yet fully man, And God placed in Him the reconciliation of men. (Colossians 1:15-20) WHY DO MEN NEED RECONCILIATION THROUGH JESUS? God has a plan and a purpose for people…. ”For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “Plans for good, and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11) God loves you and wants you to have peace and joy… “We have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” (Romans 5:1) “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not die, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16) WHY DO SO MANY PEOPLE REJECT GOD’S PLAN? God did not make you or preprogram you to believe. He gave you a free will, so you could choose to accept His plan for your life. There is a reason people reject God’s plan…And that reason is called SIN. Sin separates men from God… “So after Adam sinned (disobeyed God), the Lord God banished him from the Garden of Eden.” (Genesis3:23) “But your iniquities (sins) have separated you from your God, and your sins have hidden His face from you, so that He will not hear you.” (Isaiah 59:2) GOD LOVES YOU AND DOES NOT WANT YOU TO BE SEPARATED FROM HIM…HE HAS A SOLUTION “But God demonstrated His love for us in this…While we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8) “For there is one God and one mediator between God and Man, the man Jesus Christ, who gave Himself as a ransom for all men…” (1 Timothy 2:5) Jesus closed the separation caused by sin “Salvation is found in no One else, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12) “ I tell you the truth, whoever hears My Word (Jesus) and believes Him who sent Me has eternal life and will not be condemned; He has crossed over from death to life.” (John 5:24) HOW TO ACCEPT GOD’S SOLUTION FOR SIN… You must respond by trusting God… “Do not let your heart be troubled, trust in God, trust also in me…” (John 14:1) “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. But in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your path.” (Proverbs 3:5-6) Ask God to save you from your sin… “All who call on the name of the Lord will be saved.” (Romans 10:13) “Yet to all who received Him, to those who believed in His Name, He gave the right to be called the children of God, Children not born of natural descent, nor of human decision, or a husband’s will, but born of God.” (John 1:12-13) SO…You must… ADMIT that you are a sinner BELIEVE that Jesus is God’s Son CONFESS that He is your Lord Pray and ask Him to come into your heart! “Nothing will separate you from the love of God in Christ Jesus!” (Romans 8:29) “He who has the Son, has life…” (John 5:12) If you made the decision to pray that Jesus would come into your heart, we would love to talk with you. As a disciple of Jesus, there are five basics to follow. First Baptist Irmo builds on these five basics: WORSHIP, BIBLE STUDY, PRAYER, and EVANGELISM. Our Worship: Worship is two dimensional…It first involves “presenting yourself as a living sacrifice…” (Romans 12:1) Your personal worship is developed by your commitment to following Christ. It is the way you live your life as a believer. The second dimension of worship is expressed corporately as you gather with other Believers to worship in service to praise, pray, and proclamation. YOU are invited to join us in worship and celebration services every Sunday at 8:45 AM, 11:15 AM, and 6:00 PM.
